Casa Robles…Graduation into the big leagues

IMG_1505     We want to take some time to recognize Fredder and Heyler from Casa Robles!  These two boys totally dominated their sixth grade year of school this year.  They made the honor roll all year long, and during their Junior High graduation this past week they were honored for their efforts.  Fredder was first in class and Heyler finished second.  Fredder delivered a short speech of Thanksgiving to kick off the ceremonies, it was exceptional.  No notes but well rehearsed.  We were all sitting there very very impressed!  Getting an education is going to be something very instrumental to their futures, their efforts are in many ways impressive.  But in true 6th grade spirit, when Heyler was presented his diploma and the director read what he wants to be when he grows up…a professional futbol star!  Gotta dream big, and they are good at that too!

Later we got another surprise when the representatives from the fifth grade class came forward to receive the symbols of the school.  Denis was the best student in his class and led the procession of the symbols.  He and Fredder also had speaking parts during the exchange.  It is a very formal exchange where the next class of sixth graders is promising to honor the symbols of the school; the Nicaraguan flag, the Bible, and the school’s flag.  Once again we were all very impressed.  I put a little video up on our facebook too, it was set to a snare drum beat marching rhythm.

This success is a testament to the hard work of Mama Angelica and Papa Yuri.  Their efforts are selfless and the boys so love them dearly.  We are so excited to see what kind of young men these boys become!  And we are always so thankful for and impressed by Angelica and Yuri!  Needless to say, we were all very proud of our boys on graduation day.

As far as next year it is on to the Big Leagues for Fredder and Heyler…High School!  The Lord has provided for us to make a change of schools next year to attend a major High School in downtown Managua, there will be so many more opportunities such as clubs, sports teams, extracurricular activities, expansive facilities, etc…  We are excited for 2016!

Casa Robles operates entirely off of donations.  If you would like to contribute towards these boys…eh hem young men, please click here.

They all come from very difficult circumstances, but God is greater and we are excited about their futures!  Thank you Lord.

  1. Chachi,

This is INCREDIBLE! So awesome. I just sent a facebook message to Yuri on Facebook and will continue to keep in touch that way. Know that I am praying for you all and all of the boys. So encouraging that they are the ones leading the charge in their schools.

Hope that you are able to get some great time with the Lord this Christmas season! Love you all and hope to see you again soon!

    Best, Stafford
